My Son! My Son! My Son!Tiny pridemy realized dreamMy immortality & my name, in flesh & living! To love another as I do myself,to see you soar in life.

I am happy nowbringing you homesunshine, blazing alive about our speeding car;happier than I know I have ever been.

Tomorrow is your possessionand tomorrow I shall give youfull of Christmasses and swimming pools, bicycles and diplomas.

You'll carry my own heartknowing and tired,on silent, growing legs, thin bands, climbingtowards your inevitable destiny.

I love youwith a heart that beats a thousand timesmore joyous and lightfor your being.

Blue days fell sharplydescended so quicklywhen prison stole you from me,ripped you from my grasp like some awful, marauding beast.

Tears unyielding, held within, locked inside my iron will.

Stoic armor, soft silver eyesblazing alive with pain.

I cannot free you, too cannot lie;my lawyer's life is weakin the enormous shadow of a marble hallsmelling the court's betrayalof a loyal man.
